ABOUT THE ARTIST
ANTONIA MAVROCORDATOS
Sculptor, Artist, Jeweller
Where sculpture meets jewellery, each piece becomes a wearable work of art.
Antonia Mavrocordatos is an Australian–Greek sculptor and jewellery artist whose practice exists at the intersection of sculpture and adornment. She conceives and designs each work, creating pieces that explore form, movement, and the intimate relationship between the body and precious materials.
Working primarily with carved gemstones and precious metals, she collaborates with master artisans in Australia and the United Kingdom to realise her sculptural vision as high jewellery. Her recent work focuses on one-of-a-kind, stone-led pieces in which the material itself becomes the structure—demonstrating both technical precision and a deeply considered sculptural language.
Her multidisciplinary background spans classical sculpture, fashion design, drawing, and painting. She studied at the Julian Ashton Art School in Sydney and at Van Cleef & Arpels’ L’École School of Jewellery Arts in Paris, where she developed expertise in stone setting, wax modelling, high jewellery illustration, and French jewellery history. Further gemmological training with the Gemmological Association of Australia informs her material-led approach.
Alongside her sculptural practice, Antonia produces fine jewellery collections ranging from limited editions to singular high jewellery works. Each piece is conceived and directed by the artist, and realised in collaboration with specialised ateliers. Her work reflects a commitment to form, material integrity, and enduring design—offering collectors a rare synthesis of artistry, craftsmanship, and sculptural innovation.
